Cable and umbilical operations
Bowline personnel have background from the early 90`s with cable and umbilical production and installation. We deliver qualified personnel as client representatives, operation manager, supervisor and deck operators that are used to work all over the world.
Mobilization
We perform mobilization of barges and vessels for marine operations, in addition to shore side and platform set up for pull ins. See also marine operations.
Cable handling and spooling
Our personnel have long experience with cable and umbilical spooling and handling. To avoid injuries to person and damage to product are our focus. We ensure that the product is handled within its specification as temperature, bending and twist limits, and do our outmost to stay within the schedule.
Installation
Over a large number of successful projects with power cable, FO cable and umbilicals installations, our personnel have been installing products in most conditions. We have experience from deep and shallow water, bad visibility and demanding tidal conditions.
Shore side pull-in and floating
In shallow areas, the vessel or barge must position in safe water depth. This results in the need for floating the cables to shore, supported by workboats or strategic positioned pontoons. On shore, a setup of rollers and winch brings the cables up to the jointing pit.
Bowline can plan and manage these operations.
Platform pull-in
Some platforms have no setup for cable pull-ins. We can design method and installation of winch and tracks for platform pull-in, and perform the operation with communication to the delivering vessel or barge.
Repair operation
When subsea cables or umbilicals are damaged by anchor or short circuit, they must be repaired. Vessel or barge mobilizes and prepared for jointing operation. Bowline do not provide jointers to the actual jointing work, but decks personnel, supervisor and OM with large experience from repair work.
Project planning and procedures
Bowline have long experience with project planning and construction of procedures. We can be stationed at client location if desired.
